Why we started.
In 2022, we were a couple of in-house copywriters working at agencies who kept watching the same thing happen: a brand would pay six figures for a beautiful new website, then fill it with placeholder copy that sounded like every other agency. It drove us a bit mad. Words are how your customers decide whether to trust you, whether to buy, whether to come back. They aren’t a finishing touch — they’re the whole product on the screen.
So we started Sage as a tiny copy studio. No fancy office, no account managers, no “synergy”. Just writers writing words, for clients who care.
Four years on, we’re still small, still picky about clients, still obsessed with how things sound. Some things don’t need to change.
